    Assembling Procedures for Roller Pinion

    1. Pinion Cleaning
    Wipe out rust, dirt, etc. from the shaft, the inner surface of the roller pinion, and the inner and outer surfaces of the clamping tool.

    ２. Greasing of parts
    Lightly apply oil or grease to shaft which directly contacts with roller pinion, tapered area of clamping tool, screwed area and head seat of lock bolt (Fig. 1, 3 and 5). 
    ※Do not apply oil or grease to CPS3212A or CPS4012A.

    3. Assembly of the Roller Pinion and Shaft
    Insert the outer race of the clamping tool into the roller pinion, and then fit the roller pinion and the inner race of the clamping tool on the shaft in this order. At this time, assemble the inner and outer rings of the locking element with their split positions offset from each other(Fig. 2 and 4).
    Fasten the lock bolt until slight contact pressure is applied to the shaft and the roller pinion.

     

     

    4. Checking Roller Pinion Runout
    Check the runout and coaxiality between the roller pinion and the shaft during rotation, and adjust so that the value is within the specified roller pinion mounting accuracy.
    For measuring runout, please check the amount of runout in the roller part of the roller pinion.
    Recommended mounting accuracy : 0.03 mm or less
    Allowable operating tolerance : 0.05 mm or less

    5. Fixing the Roller Pinion to the Shaft
    After the adjustment, fasten the lock bolts diagonally (Fig. 2, 4 and 6) and uniformly starting at 25% or so of the recommended tightening torque with gradual increase.
    Fasten the lock bolts one by one in the circumferential direction. Repeat this fastening cycle several times. Then, confirm that the lock bolts have been fastened at the specified tightening torque.
    After the fastening, recheck the coaxiality and eccentricity of the shaft and roller pinion.
